'Prison Break 6' is on the way, says Dominic Purcell

The Lincoln Burrows of the series has revealed the truth in a cryptic post

Prison Break star Dominic Purcell has recently revealed that the sixth season of the hit series is finally happening.

Taking to his Instagram, the actor – who famously played inmate Lincoln Burrows – shared a cryptic post hinting at an upcoming season. Purcell wrote, “Rumour number one: I’m old? Yes, I’m 50! Rumour number two2: I’m bald? No, I have a full head of hair but the people demand I shave it. Rumour number three: Another season of PB (Prison Break)? Yes…”

He also made sure to address the most important rumour of them all. “Rumour number four: Do I like humans? No! Not on mass, definitely not.”

Purcell’s admittance comes after he shared a similarly mysterious message teasing “#October” as a possible initiation date for season six.

Earlier this year, the Merseyside-born had addressed the series' potential for another season. “I get smashed with 'When is Prison Break 6 happening?’ posts. What I can promise is this: We are all in agreement that if the story is worthy, it will get made.”

He added, "Now with the horror of this virus, the calamity of it all drills inside me a new focus, a steely resolve with Prison Break 6. I'm very optimistic with social distancing and a fierce adherence to expert opinion on how to beat this catastrophic unprecedented event. We all, as one will be victorious over coronavirus. Corporations such as Netflix are desperate for content.”

Purcell’s apparent confirmation of Prison Break’s sixth season, however, is at odds with previous comments from others involved in the popular series, according to the Independent.

In a 2019 interview, Fox Entertainment’s CEO Charlie Collier, revealed that the network had no plans for the show’s return.

Collier stated, "There's no plan right now to revive Prison Break or any of the other franchises, but when the creators come with a story that they think is the right time to tell, we are so ready to listen because those are some franchises of which I'm so proud and feel so fortunate that they're in our stable.
