ISLAMABAD:

Four men dared to jump on the motorway with their heavy bikes putting the National Highways and Motorway Police squads hot on their tails.

Riding motorcycles is banned on motorways across the country.

The riders who breached the ban at Tarnol Interchange to get on the Peshawar-Islamabad Motorway (M-1) were finally caught near Swabi after almost 90 kilometres.

National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) said that on Sunday night they took into custody four men and their heavy bikes through a special operation of box formation.

A team of three squad cars cornered the bikers from left right and front, forcing them to pull over and surrender.

An NHMP press release said that police tried to stop them several times but the motorcyclists continued to ride on in a very dangerous manner.

Motorway police not only imposed heavy fines but also arrested the four motorcyclists under Section H 83 National and impounded the bikes.
