Smog monitoring committee formed

The committee is mandated to hold weekly meetings to review the performance of the departments

FAISALABAD:

Punjab Environment Protection Department (EPD) has constituted a smog monitoring committee in the district. A spokesman for the environment department said on Monday that the commissioner would serve as the convener of the committee, while the assistant director environment, deputy director agriculture (extension), secretary Regional Transport Authority (RTA) and city police officer (CPO) would be its members. The committee is mandated to hold weekly meetings to review the performance of the departments concerned regarding the anti-smog drive. The committee would also submit its report to the EPD about steps taken to control smog, he added.
