Mayor orders parks cleanliness
Mayor Sheikh Anser Aziz on Sunday directed the environment, park and horticulture directorates of the Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation (IMC) to improve the state of cleanliness at recreational spots across the city and to provide a clean and tidy environment to visitors. He issued these instructions during a surprise visit to various parks in the city on Sunday. During the visit, he expressed annoyance over the growth of wild bushes, tall grass and poor sanitary conditions there. In a statement issued later, the mayor asked officers of the relevant departments clean and sweep the park daily. He further directed to repair different swings and street lights on priority. “IMC will take all possible measures to keep the recreational spots clean and their environment friendly,” he remarked, adding that all the directorates should fulfil their responsibilities and do everything on time for the convenience of residents of the federal capital.
