K-P IG for strict action against militants in Buner district

Sanaullah Abbasi directs coordination with intelligence agencies, military for tackling menace of terrorism

BUNER:

The provincial top cop has directed the Buner district police to devise a strategy in consultation with intelligence agencies for taking strict action against militants in the region.

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Police Inspector General Sanaullah Abbasi issued these directives during his visit to Buner district on Saturday.

The IG presided over a meeting of the Buner district police and reviewed the cases filed against suspects involved in terrorism.

Abbasi directed the police to keep an eye on the militants’ activities in the district.

RPO Muhammad Ijaz Khan, district police officer, SP special branch, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) SSP attended the meeting. The police chief was briefed about the law and order situation and militants’ activities in the district.

He directed to take strict action against the militants in the Malakand division.

The IG further directed the police to coordinate with the military authorities for eliminating the terrorists and ensuring peace in the Malakand division. He also directed to ensure security of the anti-polio teams.

RPO Rehman further said that basic aim of the formation of DRCs to resolve local issues out of court which will lessen the burden on judiciary and police.
