‘Low pressure due to low gas from fields’
Denying reports of gas load-shedding, the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has stated that a low pressure situation has been created due to diminishing gas supplies from various gas fields. In a statement on Sunday, SSGC said it faced a shortfall of 150 million cubic feet per day of gas, and was therefore following the government’s gas load management plan by giving priority to the domestic sector. It added that it was continuing to provide 190 to 200MMCFD of gas to K-Electric to avoid prolonged power outages. According to SSGC, there will also be gas shortfalls in the upcoming winter.
