Two killed in road accidents

KARACHI:

A child and a local Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf representative were killed in road accidents on Sunday.

Batool Arsalan, 6, died when a dumper truck rammed into the motorcycle carrying her and her father, while racing with another dumper truck. Her father was uninjured.

The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, while the police arrested both truck drivers and impounded their vehicles. The family refused legal procedures.

Meanwhile, a motorcyclist was severely injured when a dumper truck ran into him on the road from Sohrab Goth to Water Pump. Abdul Haq, a local PTI representative from Liaquatabad, succumbed to his injuries while being shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

Enraged bystanders tried to set the truck on fire, but the police dispersed the crowd and impounded the truck.
