Four alleged bike lifters arrested

Suspects confessed their involvement

ISLAMABAD:

The Golra police on Saturday claimed to have arrested four alleged bike lifters and recovered 16 two-wheelers from them. According to a police spokesman, the suspects had rented a basement near Chungi 26, where they used to tamper the engine and chassis numbers of the stolen motorcycles and later sell them to different people in twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. A police team comprising Golra police station Golra Inspector Shamsul Akber, ASI Noor Kula and others tracked and arrested the suspects identified as Waqar Akhtar, Sajjad Abdul Khalilq, Attiq Shafique and Shafique Sultan.

During the preliminary investigation, they confessed their involvement in several incidents of motorcycle thefts in various areas of the twin cities.
