Two angry girls who had hit the road with cash taken from parents’ drawers and bag full of snacks were spotted by the Punjab Highway Police (PHP) walking along the GT Road and taken in protective custody. They were safely handed over to their father by the police after legal formalities.
Police told The Express Tribune learnt that the Taili Mor Picket Sub-Inspector Mehboob Akhtar was on a routine patrol with his team on GT Road when they saw two girls walking alone in the evening with one of them carrying a backpack schoolbag. The police stopped and asked the minors where were they headed, to which they could not give a satisfactory answer and got confused. At this, the police checked the bag on suspicion and found snacks and around Rs0.1 million inside it. The police officials took both girls into custody and shifted them to the picket.
The police obtained their father's phone number and called him. Later, they were handed over to their parent after legal formalities.
