Encroachment along IJP Road, other areas razed
The apex civic authority of the federal capital conducted a massive operation against encroachment in different parts of the city on Wednesday along the IJP Road, Saidpur, Khanna, Sector G-9, Sector G-11 and Sector I-8 Markaz.
Some land was also dug up near Double Road to prevent the encroachers from returning.
During the operation, conducted by the Enforcement Directorate of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) with assistance from the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration, the Islamabad Police and other relevant departments.
During the operation along the IJ Principal Road, teams of the Enforcement Directorate demolished four kiosks and a tire shop while a truckload of encroachment material was also confiscated from Faizabad along the trunk road.
The encroachment team also removed animals from nine sale points along the road, dismantled three fences and dug up the ground in the Double Road area along IJ Principal Road so that the land cannot be re-encroached.
At the Pindora Chungi along IJ Principal Road, seven sheds, six parking polls, five signboards, a fence, a billboard, a security cabin and seven kiosks were demolished.
During an anti-encroachment operation in the Saidpur area of the Margalla Hills National Park, the staff of the Enforcement Directorate with assistance from the Environment Wing of the Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation (IMC) demolished three boundary walls, two washrooms, a house, three under-construction rooms along with kitchens which had been illegally constructed on state land.
Similarly, a team of the Enforcement Directorate conducted an operation in Bilal Town of Khanna Pul area and demolished five shops and three sheds.
Further, an under-construction room being built on state land adjacent to Sector G-9/2 was demolished along with a roadside eatery and one room constructed illegally on a plot located in Sector G-11/3. Another roadside eatery was demolished in Sector I-8 Markaz.
