Opposition demands judicial inquiry into motorway incident
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has demanded a judicial inquiry of the motorway rape incident.
PML-N Punjab Spokesperson Azma Bukhari said the rape victim had made a startling revelation before police while recording her statement.
She said the victim revealed that she called the police helpline to request for Rs1,000 worth of fuel for her car that ran out of gas.
Azma said the woman further revealed that the rapist, after committing the heinous act left Rs1,000 on her car’s dashboard. She said this was not a petty fact that should be overlooked.
She said there needs to be a judicial inquiry into the incident.
She said police have already shown their biases in the case. She said they will not accept the police's inquiry regarding the case. She said that they also reject CCPO’s apology regarding his insensitive remarks.
She said his apology was coupled with ifs and buts. She said is there any further roams for ifs and buts.
“Police and government are claiming victory in the case, in which the prime accused is yet to be arrested,” she said.
