Coronavirus infections on the rise in capital

ISLAMABAD:

Coronavirus infections in Islamabad are taking off once again with 39 confirmed cases reported on Monday.

District Health Office (DHO) reported that 20 men and 19 women contracted the pandemic virus, raising the tally of infections in the federal capital to 15,901. On September 12, some 30 cases were reported in a single day in Islamabad.

DHO officials said that some six cases were reported from Korang Town while three each were reported Humak, Sectors E-11/3, and E-11/4.

Two cases each surfaced from Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Phase V and II, Sector G-7/2, and G-6/1.

Various other areas were those from where only a single case was reported.

As per DHO, there are still 348 active coronavirus cases in Islamabad while some 178 people have succumbed to the infection so far.
