CCPO sends four cops behind bars

A citizen named Amjad Zulfiqar had died of torture

LAHORE:

Capital city police officer (CCPO) Lahore Muhammad Umer Sheikh has put behind bars four police officers on charges of running a torture cell last year in Karol Ghatti area where citizens were kept in illegal detention. A citizen named Amjad Zulfiqar had died of torture. The inquiry officer had recommended action against the officials for illegal detention and torture in then private torture cell. Sheikh said a private torture cell would not be tolerated at any cost. He said he would not spare anyone involved in unjust practices. He said ‘policing of police’ would be done for better results.
