Pregnant woman loses baby during robbery
During a robbery bid in a suburban village near Faisalabad, alleged robbers physically assaulted a seven-month pregnant woman on Monday, resulting in her miscarriage.
As per details, the victim was hit on her abdomen with the butt of a gun due to which she lost her baby. She was shifted to Jaranwala hospital after receiving medical assistance on the spot.
Hospital officials told The Express Tribune that Mukhtar Ahmed, a resident of Jaranwala, was commuting to his home with his sister-in-law Safia Bibi on a motorcycle when, on the way, robbers set up a roadblock near 26 Ada. The accused snatched the motorcycle from Mukhtar after which Safia responded by resisting the snatching attempt. The robbers then assaulted Safia with the butt of their gun on her abdomen.
As a result of the incident, her condition deteriorated and she was shifted to a hospital where doctors confirmed the miscarriage. The doctors also informed the victim’s relatives of an immediate medical operation for the victim.
Rodala police reached the crime scene on receiving information and collected evidence.
