Festivity turns sour: Gunmen ambush wedding in Hub

Two people were killed and a bride was injured when armed men opened fire during a wedding ceremony.

Two people were killed and a bride was injured when armed men opened fire during a wedding ceremony in the industrial town of Hub on Sunday. According to police, people were celebrating the wedding at a house on Sakran road in Hub. The joy turned into grief when armed men barged into the house and opened fire, killing Nikah khwan Mohammad Siddiq and the groom’s maternal uncle Manzoor Hussain Zehri on the spot, while critically injuring the bride. The incident caused panic among the people and then a stampede. The injured bride Zareena was shifted to Karachi because of her critical wounds. The groom Nadeem escaped unhurt in the attack. Relatives however say that he was listed as missing after the incident. ”We have apprehensions that the groom was kidnapped by the armed men,” the relatives said when they were contacted via phone.
