ISLAMABAD:

The Aviation Division has given an investigation team until September 15 to complete its inquiry into the pilot licences and has decided to release the investigation report and present it before the cabinet, sources have said.

The cabinet had directed the Aviation Division to complete the investigation into dubious pilot licences by September 30. However, in view of the presence of an IATA team in Pakistan, it has been decided to complete the investigation early.

According to the sources, hearings of pilots suspected of having dubious licences had been completed. They added that the separate penalties for pilots were under consideration if allegations of forgery and a violation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) found true.
