Reserving its ruling on the application seeking permission for exhuming the body of a doctor who died by suicide, a local court stated on Thursday that it would announce its decision on the request today (Friday).

The deceased had shot herself in the head at her residence in Gizri on August 18.

The Gizri police had filed the application to the South judicial magistrate, moving the court to grant permission for exhuming her body and conducting its post-mortem once more.

In the petition, the police said they had been denied permission by a special session court in Mirpurkhas and were directed to approach a relevant court on the matter. Following this, the South district court was approached, which then directed the police to seek permission from the relevant magistrate.

At this, the court fixed September 11 for announcing its decision.

Murder case

Meanwhile, the East judicial magistrate sent two persons accused of killing a man in Zaman Town to jail on judicial remand.

Police presented the accused, Shahrukh and Noman, before the court.

The court ordered jail authorities to produce all the accused on September 19 and directed the investigation officer to submit the challan after the probe's completion. Besides Shahrukh and Noman, another accused in the case, Areeba, has already been sent to jail on judicial remand.

The accused allegedly shot dead Munib, who had recently gotten married, on September 2. CCTV footage of the incident, circulating on social media, showed two motorcyclists snatch his cellphone, gun him down and then escape.

According to the police, his ex-girlfriend Areeba and her accomplices, Noman and Shahrukh, were behind the murder.
