‘Farmers training must be expanded’

Farmers’ representatives highlighted some issues for the promotion of the agriculture sector

FAISALABAD:

Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali said on Thursday that the scope of training programmes for the awareness of farmers should be expanded. Chairing a meeting of the district agricultural advisory committee, he called for stern legal action against the elements involved in selling counterfeit and adulterated pesticides.

He also ordered monitoring of the fertiliser prices and arrest of those involved in canal water theft. Earlier, the deputy director agriculture gave a briefing on the locust and flood situation, as well as anti-smog activities. Farmers’ representatives highlighted some issues for the promotion of the agriculture sector.
