Barrage estimates: Water levels monitored across Sindh

It is estimated that the pond level at Tarbela Dam is constantly rising.

Irrigation and barrage officials are monitoring water levels across the province and it is estimated that the pond level at Tarbela Dam is constantly rising.


On August 7, it was 1,496 feet with an inflow of 181,700 cusecs and outflow of 150,000 cursecs. The pond level at Mangla dam was recorded at 1,197 feet with an inflow of 20,428 cusecs and an outflow of 150,000 cusecs. In comparison, on August 7, 2010 the pond level at the Tarbela dam was 1,532 feet with an inflow of 444,300 cusecs and outflow of 392,300 cusecs.

The Guddu Barrage upstream flow of water was recorded at 139,062 cusecs and downstream was 102,652 cusecs. The Sukkur Barrage upstream flow was 99,075 cusecs and the downstream was 46,835 cusecs of water. The Kotri barrage had an upstream flow of 39,607 cusecs and downstream was 2,400 cusecs.

Last year, the pond level at Mangla dam was 1,206 feet. The upstream flow at Guddu barrage was 962,678 cusecs and downstream was 962,140 cusecs. Similarly, at Sukkur barrage, the upstream flow was 871,682 cusecs and the downstream was 850,682 cusecs of water.
