Popular singer Asim Azhar recently shared his desire to collaborate with the renowned seven-member South Korean band BTS.
Several hilarious renditions of the boy band’s music videos overlapped with Bollywood and Pakistani tracks had been circulating on social media recently. Among the re-edited versions was a version that intertwined Azhar’s Soneya with a BTS video.
Azhar shared the video on Twitter to acknowledge the brilliant editing, along with which he expressed his desire to work with the Billboard top artists. The Humraah crooner wrote, “I’d love to become the first Pakistani artist to collaborate with BTS. Crossing cultures is always beautiful. K-pop is an example of that, also amazing edit!”

Following this, the BTS army appreciated the singer for having a brilliant taste. And although there were some who were quick to criticise Azhar for perhaps, “dreaming too big,” Pakistani pop icon Hadiqa Kiani tweeted in support of the young star’s aspirations. “Yes! Fully support this,” she wrote.

Keeping the negativity aside, many users also started requesting Azhar to do a cover of a BTS song, and Dynamite seemed to be on top of everyone’s minds. “Ye keh k dil jeet liya (You’ve won our hearts by saying this). We stan Asim bhai! Also, please do a cover of Dynamite,” wrote a user. “Can you please do a cover of their song Dynamite? It’s in English and would mean a lot to the Pakistani BTS army,” urged another.
Within less than a day of its release, Azhar’s Soneya had crossed over half a million views on YouTube. Written by Indian singer-songwriter Kunal Verma, the song is composed by Azhar.
The music video for BTS’ chartbusting track, Dynamite, on the other hand, has been smashing almost every record coming its way. After scoring its first No 1 hit last week, the group has managed to cross the edge of pop stardom.
In its second consecutive week, the music video sustains the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100.
