Sindh reports six more Covid-19 deaths

At least six more people in Sindh succumbed to the coronavirus on Wednesday, raising the provincial death toll to 2,436. The province reported 146 more cases of Covid-19, in a statement issued by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah on the day, taking Sindh's cumulative tally to 131,115.

According to the CM, 9,292 coronavirus tests were conducted in the province between Tuesday and Wednesday, while another 168 people recovered from the disease in the same duration.

The province has conducted 1,082,367 tests in total, against which 131,115 infections were confirmed, hence the overall detection rate of the province is at 12 per cent, he added.

According to Shah, 2,076 coronavirus patients are currently undergoing treatment, of which 1,767 are in home isolation, six are quarantined at isolation centres, and 303 are at different hospitals. The condition of 152 patients is critical, with at least 20 on ventilators, he said.
