Robbers loot Rs1.5m from former FIA officer
Robbers deprived a former Federal Investigation Agency officer of Rs1.5 million in cash at gunpoint near a private bank in Ahsanabad, SITE Super Highway Industrial Area.
The former FIA inspector, Muhammad Ashraf, was reportedly stopped by the robbers after he withdrew cash from the bank.
Ashraf stated that he had given a cheque to the bank manager and asked him for the money instead of cashing the cheque through the counter. He shared that after he left, two motorcyclists chased his car and robbed him.
"When I handed over one of the packets of cash that I had withdrawn, the robbers told me to give them the entire Rs1.5 million," claimed Ashraf, adding that they knew the exact amount of money he was carrying.
He stated that the robbers were about to shoot him in the foot but saw the other packet lying near his feet. They grabbed it and fled.
He voiced the suspicion that someone from the bank had informed the robbers about the withdrawal. He further complained that the bank staff was uncooperative and refusing to provide CCTV footage.
