PM Imran approves additional posts in bureaucracy
Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday took an important decision regarding reforms in civil service and approved the addition of 15 posts in grade-21; 29 posts in grade-20 and 44 posts in grade-19.
The premier directed the authorities concerned to present the amendment in civil service rules to the federal cabinet for approval.
He also approved the induction of individuals having experience and technical expertise in grade-19 and 20 on contractual basis.
This initiative will not affect any cadre group but will benefit the government in policy-making by utilising the skills and knowledge of these experts.
According to a statement issued by the PM’s Office, the decision to provide additional posts to the officers of the Secretariat Group had been taken in order to offer them better prospects for progress.
The promotion process for the Secretariat Group’s officers had been subjected to delay since 2015.
The prime minister asked the officials concerned to get the relevant rules and regulations for the posting of Pakistan Administrative Service and Provincial Management Service officers presented and approved by the cabinet.
After the approval of the rules, the posting of officers belonging to the provincial services having the required skills will be possible in the Pakistan Administrative Service similarly, as these officers are deputed in the Pakistan Police Service and Office Management Group.
The federation will further be strengthened by paving the way for the inclusion of provincial service officers in All Pakistan Service, and this way these officers will be able to offer their services across the country.
