Sindh sees five more Covid-19 deaths

167 patients were reported to have recuperated from the infection

As many as five more coronavirus-related deaths have been reported in Sindh, taking the province's Covid-19 death toll to 2,430, said Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Tuesday.

In a statement issued on the day, he further said that following the emergence of 162 more cases, Sindh's cumulative coronavirus tally had climbed to 130,969. Of the newly reported cases, the highest, numbering 87, belonged to Karachi.

According to the CM, 167 patients were reported to have recuperated from the infection, after which, the total number of recovered patients in the province rose to 126, 435.

This leaves 2,104 patients under treatment, among whom 1,804 are in home isolation, six in quarantine centres and 294 are admitted to hospitals, he said.

The CM added that of these patients, 157 were critically ill, with 18 on ventilator.
