Two wanted robbers arrested
The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of the Islamabad Police has arrested two wanted members of a gang and recovered stolen cash worth Rs525,000, a motorbike and the gun used in criminal activities, a police spokesperson said on Tuesday.
DSP CIA Hakim Khan, ASI Zulfiqar and other officials apprehended two members of a criminal gang. They were identified as Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) resident Adnan Saeed Akhtar and Rawalpindi resident Junid Tahir. The police team also recovered snatched cash worth Rs525,000, a motorbike and a 30 bore unlicenced pistol along with ammunition.
During preliminary investigations, they allegedly confessed to their involvement in different incidents of looting and snatching within the remits of the Lohibher police station and its adjoining areas along with their accomplices. The suspects are ex-convicts, having served jail time for their involvement in dacoities and burglaries.
Further investigations are underway from them and the police team is hopeful of recovering further stolen items from them along with obtaining information about their accomplices.
