ABBOTABAD:

As many as nine people, who had lost their sight due to the alleged negligence of doctors and staff at the eye ward of the Ayub Medical Complex (AMC), have gone to court to have a first information report (FIR) registered.

The nine victims have filed a petition against the medical facility in the sessions court, contending that despite filing applications in the Mirpur police station and the office of the district police officer, a case could not be registered against the staff of the complex.

The petition was filed by the "Abbottabad Rescue Movement", comprising a 10-member panel of lawyers, who announced to provide all possible assistance to the nine people who had lost their eyesight when they were injected with a routine injection.
