Four ‘robbers’ arrested after shootouts
Faisalabad police claimed to have arrested four robbers who were injured in separate shootouts in the jurisdiction of Sammundri Circle on Monday.
According to a police spokesperson, the alleged robbers, after snatching valuables from a villager identified as Sajjad, were fleeing when a Tarkhana police team started chasing the accused and encircled them near Chak No 138GB, Rasyana.
Reportedly, the outlaws opened fire on the police party which was also retaliated. As a result of the incident, two robbers identified as Noman, son of Abdul Sattar and resident of Sufi Colony, Sammundri, and his co-accused Usman, son of Falak Sher and resident of Chak No 222GB, Sammundri, sustained injuries. Moreover, the other two robbers managed to escape from the crime scene.
Police arrested both the accused and seized illicit weapons, bullets and the snatched amount of Rs4,000.
In another shootout, taking place near Chak No 390GB, two suspected robbers were injured while two of their accomplices managed to escape. Reportedly, a police team had signaled to stop four suspects on Sammundri city bypass but they accelerated their motorcycles in a bid to escape police.
In response to this, the police team started chasing them and encircled them near Chak No 490GB. In a crossfire, two robbers were injured while their two accomplices fled the scene. Police arrested the injured robbers who were identified as Sajid, son of Shabir and Shahzen, son of Ghulam Hussain.
