Humayun Saeed shares throwback picture of the first time he played an Army officer

The actor posted the promotional poster of 90's TV serial 'Wilco' as a tribute to Defence Day

Veteran actor Humayun Saeed paid a unique tribute to the armed forces on Pakistan's 55th annual Defence Day. The Bin Roye star shared a throwback picture of the first time he portrayed an army officer on television. The picture is a promotional poster for the 90s television drama WIlco that is based on PMA Kakul and Pakistan Army.

"My mother always wanted to see me in the army uniform and I got to do that the very first time in Wilco.," Saeed wrote in the caption as he posted the picture on his Instagram. Adding on, the actor expressed his gratitude to the men serving in the armed forces.

"Salute, love and prayers for our armed forces who are not afraid to sacrifice their lives to protect ours. May Allah bless our martyrs, may He guard our soldiers. Pakistan Zindabad," he said.

Several celebrities took to social media on Sunday to praise Pakistan's armed forces on the occasion. Saeed's Punjab Nahi Jaongee co-star Mehwish Hayat also saluted the armed forces in a Twitter post." I salute all those brave members of our armed forces who gave the ultimate sacrifice in protecting our country. I thank those that cont to put their lives on the line every day so we can sleep safely each night. We’ll owe you a debt of gratitude for generations to come!" she said.

Likewise singer and actor Farhan Saeed went on to deem the services offered by the forces as 'unmatched'. "I salute the valiant men and women of Pakistan's armed forces - we shall forever remain indebted to each of you for your unmatched services to the nation. Zindabad - now, always and forever," Saeed said.
