Inmate serving life term dies

Civil Lines police handed over the body of the deceased to his heirs after completing the legal procedure

FAISALABAD:

A prisoner of life sentence in Central Jail has died. Civil Lines police handed over the body to his family after taking necessary action.

The inmate, 65-year-old Sarfraz, a resident of Nematabad, was arrested by Gojra city police in 2008 and sent to jail. He was sentenced by a court for 25 years in prison, during which he was transferred to Central Jail, Faisalabad.

During his imprisonment, his health deteriorated and he was transferred to the prison ward of the Civil Hospital, where he was treated for two days. He died on Sunday morning. Civil Lines police handed over the body of the deceased to his heirs after completing the legal procedure.
