Toxic food leaves 12 hospitalised

A day earlier, six people suffered from food poisoning after eating from a restaurant

FAISALABAD:

At least twelve members of two families, including nine children, were rushed to a hospital after consuming toxic food in Samnabad area.

Two families living in a house near College Road in Samnabad area had meal, after which 30-year-old Kashif, 27-year-old Nasira Bibi, 25-year-old Asifa, 8-year-old Jia, 6-year-old Muhammad Akmal, 5-year-old Ali Hasnain, 6-year-old Shahroz, 7-year-old Tahira, 5-year-old Hira, 2-year-old Sakhawat, 8-year-old Shehryar and 7-year-old Alia started vomiting.

They were provided medical aid by Rescue 1122 staff and shifted to the General Hospital Samnabad.

A day earlier, at least six people suffered from food poisoning after eating from a restaurant in Faisalabad.

They were admitted to a hospital for treatment.

Sixth family member passes away of suspected food poisoning in Karachi

Reportedly, 28-year-old Kashif Ali, 18-year-old Shahbaz, 25-year-old Asad, 20-year-old Rizwan, 25-year-old Ejaz and 23-year-old Bilal ate at the restaurant in Civil Lines, after which their health deteriorated.

They were shifted to Allied Hospital after they fell unconsciousness, where they were provided medical treatment.

Police launch an investigation into the incident.

Separately, 10 employees of another restaurant fainted while working in the kitchen due to lack of ventilation.
