Pakistani celebrities pay tribute to armed forces on Defence Day
Pakistan celebrated it's 55th annual Defence Day today with the entire country commemorating its ‘victory’ against India in the 1965 war. The celebrity fraternity also took to social media to praise Pakistan's armed forces on the occasion.
Singer and actor Farhan Saeed went on to deem the services offered by the forces as 'unmatched'. "I salute the valiant men and women of Pakistan's armed forces - we shall forever remain indebted to each of you for your unmatched services to the nation. Zindabad - now, always and forever," Saeed said.
Additionally, Saeed also paid tribute to all the healthcare professionals that served the country during the Covid-19 pandemic. "This Defence Day, I pay tribute to healthcare practitioners across the country - Pakistan's incredible frontline in the country's battle against Covid-19. You efforts will make for us to overcome - thank you for everything!" the Pi Jaoon singer said.
Ali Zafar shared his song Jaan De Den Ge that was released initially released on 23rd March. "Today we salute those who gave their lives to protect ours. Those, who will never be forgotten," he said.
Yasir Hussain in an Instagram post shared an old patriotic number sung by Noor Jehan called, Raang layega shaheedoon ka laho. "Ay watan k sajeely Jawano mery naghmy tumhary liye hain ( Oh the men of my country. my anthems are for you. Happy Independence Day," he said.
Veteran actor Shaan Shahid shared a poster of his film Zarrar as he saluted the armed forces. "A salute to the defenders and martyrs of Pakistan. They fight to protect the motherland from threats inside and outside.Pakistan Zindabad," he said.
Others who expressed their love for the armed forces included Bilal Ashraf and Faysal Qureshi.
