LAHORE:

Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) Parliamentary Leader in Punjab Assembly Hasan Murtaza has said that the party will continue its struggle for the betterment of the country irrespective of support from other opposition parties.

Speaking to The Express Tribune, he said the PPP is not dependent on any other party but it believes in dialogue, hence it takes every political party on board.

He alleged that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had always fought for power.

“It’s only when they feel that their narrative is not resonating with the masses that they shake hands with other opposition parties with the intent to gain a bargaining position,” he added.

The PPP leader also questioned criticism against the Sindh government over the recent Karachi flooding.

He claimed that Karachi was better managed than Lahore in every way. “All the media hype on the Karachi flooding issue was a storm in a teacup,” he said.

“It was a natural calamity that could not have been avoided,” Murtaza added.
