LAHORE:

The counsel of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif submitted his fresh medical reports in Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday which shows that his client is more vulnerable than a normal person if exposed to Covid-19.

The Sharif family patriarch is in London undergoing treatment for complicated coronary artery disease and other ailments.

Nawaz’s, given his age and significant disease burden, falls in the category of patients who, if exposed to novel coronavirus maybe “at a much greater risk than a normal person”, his consultant cautioned in the medical report.

Amjad Pervaiz, the counsel of Nawaz submitted the reports of his client in the registrar office of the LHC in which the physician advised that the former premier must take extra-precautions and should not go outside unnecessarily to avoid contracting the virus.

Stepping out ‘may be fatal’ for Nawaz Sharif

The Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) supremo is already suffering from multiple diseases including diabetes, high blood pressure and kidney and heart complications.

The report says that the treatment of former PM has been carried out conservatively as is merited by the prognosis of various diseases he is already suffering from.

Doctors have advised the three-time premier to continue his physical activities and remain in constant contact with his medical team.

Earlier this month, the PTI-led government had decided to hold an inquiry into the alleged doctored medical reports of former prime minister to verify their authenticity after several ruling party members including Prime Minister Imran Khan raised suspicion that the ousted PM was granted bail and subsequently allowed to fly to London last year for medical treatment on the basis of “fake” medical reports.
