A high level meeting chaired by Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal on Saturday decided to release development funds for cold areas of the province on priority basis to conclude ongoing uplift projects before winter season.
The chief minister reviewed the progress of ongoing development projects under the departments of Communications and Works, Sports and Balochistan Coastal Development Authority.
Balochistan Coastal Development Authority Director General Babar Khan apprised the meeting over the progress of new projects under the authority in the financial year of 2020-21.
“The development plans have been designed to promote tourism on the prolonged coastal strip to attract local and foreign tourists,” said Khan, adding the department was also working to promote ecotourism, construction of fish landing jetties, beach and sports activities.
Besides, establishment of areas on coastal highways, plantations, beach parks and resorts at various locations were also on the cards, he added.
Addressing the meeting the chief minister said the government was keen to uplift tourism on the provincial coastal strip to highlight socio-economic image of Balochistan for the world.
Kamal announced to hold regular meetings of the Planning and Development department and Communications and Works for approval of new development projects.
He also directed to complete the preliminary work of new projects by the end of September 2020 and start initiate regular work of the projects from October 2020.
