LAHORE:

A woman has approached the Lahore High Court (LHC) with a plea requesting the custody of her children from her husband who allegedly does not want their daughters to continue education.

Petitioner Nadia Kausar implored the court to direct the station house officer (SHO) of Model Town police station in Burewala, district Vehari, to order production of the minor children.

She told the court that she had married Muhammad Tariq and they had four children, namely Uzma, Faiza, Zeeihan and Nauman.

The woman alleged that her husband had become harsh with the passage of time and often engaged in altercations with her on petty issues. She contended before the court that her daughters were brilliant in education but their father had refused to let them study further.

“Uzma had obtained 96% marks in matriculation and Faiza had scored 86% in the 9th class,” she said, adding, “When I took a stand for them to continue their studies, my husband kicked me out of the house after thrashing me.”

She requested the court to direct the law enforcement agencies to recover her children and hand them over to her.
