After Covid-19, typhoid rears head in garrison city
Following a decline in the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) cases, the life-threatening typhoid fever has started rearing its head in the garrison city with the public hospitals receiving over 100 cases, it has been learnt.
During a survey conducted on Wednesday, The Express Tribune observed that the number of patients infected with respiratory fever was found in abundance in private clinics and public hospitals.
Roughly estimated, the allied hospitals including Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH), District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital, and Holy Family Hospital (HFH) are receiving dozens of patients suffering from typhoid daily.
Meanwhile, doctors at private clinics have started prescribing a ten-day-long course for making a full recovery from the virus while they are charging up to Rs1,500 for four mandatory injections.
