Accused threw child in pool of dirty water

A man has killed his five-month-old son by throwing him into a pool of dirty water over a dispute with his wife.

The accused confessed to the crime after being questioned by police. The police registered a case and initiated legal action.

The man named Safdar, resident of village 102EB, threw his son in a pool of dirty water. As a result, the minor died.

Reportedly, Safdar and his wife frequently quarrelled with each other. In the wee hours of Wednesday, there was another altercation between the husband and wife, after which, the husband took his five-month-old baby, who was sleeping with his wife, and threw him into dirty water in the village. The accused later pretended that the baby had been kidnapped. When the people in the neighborhood heard the screams of the accused’s wife, Safdar joined them and searched for his child all night long.

His wife informed the police about the incident. Sheikh Fazil Police reached the spot and on interrogation, Safdar's wife alleged that her husband was behind the incident and he had taken away the child.

As a result, police arrested Safdar, who pleaded guilty to throwing the child into a village pond. On his confession, the police retrieved the body of the child from the pool of dirty water. Police arrested the accused, registered a case on the complaint of his wife and handed over the body of the child to the family.
