‘Lawyers should evolve with technology’
Legal practitioners should evolve in line with the needs of changing times, where technology is playing an instrumental role, advised senior attorney John Dickerson of Commercial Law Development Program, USA (CLDP) .
He was speaking at a webinar, ‘The Future of Lawyers and Law firms in Pakistan - Legal Tech, Big Data & Online Courts,’ organised by the Entrepreneurship and Management Excellence Centre, Institute of Business Management in collaboration with Continuing Legal Education Institute of Pakistan (CLEIP) and CLDP, USA.
Another speaker, CLEIP member Amar Naseer, added that artificial intelligence would offer opportunities to enhance the profession. Similarly, Shaharyar Nashat, legal director at Hub Power, said that law schools in Pakistan need to revise curriculum to incorporate technology as lawyers would focus more on data analysis in the future.
