MULTAN:

Doctors successfully removed a life-threatening nine—kilogramme tumor from the abdomen of an 18-year-old girl through a successful laparoscopic surgical procedure conducted in DHQ Vehari Surgical Unit Two.

The complicated lifesaving surgery was completed in two hours by Dr Mohsin Mumtaz and Dr Ramzan.

Dr Mohsin Mumtaz along with his colleague Dr Ramzan had examined the teenager and had decided to perform a surgery. The doctors revealed that the nine-kg tumor had formed between the patient’s stomach and ovaries, which was duly removed through the surgery.

“The patient had been suffering from abdominal pain for the past many weeks and had been disappointed after visiting several clinics in the area. She was brought to DHQ hospital Vehari two days ago.,” Dr Mohsin Mumtaz pointed out.

“Due to the lack of general anesthesia, the patient underwent laparoscopic surgery with spinal anesthesia,” he explained, adding, “After two hours of complex surgery, a huge tumor weighing 9kg was removed from her body.”

Detailing the procedure, the surgeon highlighted that in laparoscopic surgeries, there are no prominent signs of surgery that scar the patient’s body.

The patient's life was in grave danger due to the tumor but now she is safe and will be discharged soon, he stated.
