The apex civic authority of the federal capital on Tuesday held balloting for as many as 437 plots, allotted in place of the deleted plots for Sector I-12.

The ballot was conducted by the authority with the Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Capital Development Authority (CDA) Affairs Ali Nawaz Awan overseeing the entire process along with a balloting committee. The balloting was conducted through the National Database Regulatory Authority (NADRA) to prevent double or incorrect allotment. The balloting results have been placed on the CDA website.

Plots which were allotted through balloting are located in different subsectors including 192 plots in sub-sector I-12/1. Of these, three plots measure 25x50, 154 plots measure 30x60, and 39 plots measure 35x60.

Similarly, 18 plots measuring 30x60 were allotted in sub-sector I-12/2, while 227 plots measuring 25x50 were allotted in sub-sector I-12/3.

The plots had been deleted due to revision of the layout plan for the sector or plots which had been double allotted.

The allotment process ensured that identical plots and in same sub-sectors with a specific size of the road were allotted in the same sub-sector and on the same size of the road. Moreover, corner plots were allotted in place of a corner plot and so on.

Construction consultation

Meanwhile, a two-day consultation that the CDA held with representatives of developers, builders and private housing societies concluded at the Jinnah Convention Centre on Tuesday.

It had been held in the backdrop of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s announcement for a special package for the construction and the housing industry in the country.

The consultation was attended by CDA Chairman Aamer Ali Ahmed, CDA Members of Finance, Estate, Engineering, along with directors of Urban Planning, Regional Planning, Building Control Section (BCS)-, BCS-II, Housing Societies and other relevant officers of the authority. From the construction sector, representatives of the Association of Builders and Developers (ABAD) and private housing societies attended the session.

A session was held with representatives of ABAD on the first day, while on the second, a session was held with representatives of private housing societies.

Issues related to construction and housing sectors in the federal capital were discussed during these sessions.

The representatives of ABAD and private housing societies candidly expressed all their problems and proposed solutions as well. Issues regarding approvals of building plans, traffic assessment, environment, building by-laws, graveyard levy charges, Sector E-11 projects, layout plans and insurance policies were discussed during these sessions.

CDA officials detailed the measures taken in line with the special package for the construction and housing industry, including the auction of the Blue Area plots, frequent meetings of the Design Vetting Committee to approve building designs, and making CDA processes time-bound for investors who have completed all other legal requirements.

CDA to put 78 plots under the hammer today

CDA officials announced that they will hold another auction of commercial plots in September where special incentives will be extended to investors.

Moreover, a new phase of Park Enclave is also being launched alongside the auction of commercial plots. Officials of the authority assured that issues of the housing and construction industry in the federal capital will be resolved at the earliest.
