WAPDA chief calls on Balochistan CM 

Chairman WAPDA vowed that the remaining work of Kachi Canal Phase 1 will be completed soon

Chairman WAPDA Lieutenant General (retd) Muzammil Hussain called on Chief Minister of Balochistan Jam Kamal on Monday. Provincial Ministers Nawabzada Tariq Magsi and Meer Saleem Khosa were also present. During the meeting, issues related to construction of Nollang Dam in Jhal Magsi District along with completion and expansion of Kachhi Canal was discussed. “Millions of acres of land can be cultivated with the construction and development of water reservoirs in Balochistan,” the CM said, adding that the Kachhi Canal project will be the basis of the economic situation of the province and employment opportunities. He further added that with the construction of water reservoirs, Balochistan can meet the food needs of the entire country. Commenting on the construction of Kanolang Dam in district Jhal Magsi, CM Balochistan said tenders for Kanollang Dam project will be issued soon. “The project will store millions of acres of water while it would also produce electricity.” Chairman WAPDA vowed that the remaining work of Kachi Canal Phase 1 will be completed soon.
