Police claimed on Sunday to have arrested five drug pushers from various parts of the district and seized narcotics and illegal weapons from their possession. Okara Saddar police arrested Muhammad Ali and his accomplice Kausar Bibi also known as Sheeman with six kgs of hashish, a vehicle and Rs5,000 in cash. Baseerpura police arrested Muhammad Azam with 3.2 kgs of hashish and Rs1,200. Sangtrah police arrested Amanat and Ramzan with 30 litres of liquor and a 12-bore gun. Cases had been registered against the accused.
