PESHAWAR:

An adjournment motion was submitted in the provincial assembly on Friday against the principal secretary to Prime Minister Imran Khan for granting an extension in service to the officer’s relative.

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) lawmaker Nighat Orakzai submitted the motion stating that the former Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) chief secretary Amjid Khan’s tenure has been extended in contravention to the directives of the Supreme Court. The PPP leader claimed that Development Management Group (DMG) officer Jehanzeb Khan who is a close relative of the PM’s Principal Secretary Azam Khan, has been given a three-year extension in his service.

Jehanzeb was about to retire on August 1 after reaching the age of superannuation this year. However, his service tenure was extended for three years.
