Call to promote women in sports
There is a need to not only provide the physical space but also financial and moral support to women so that they can excel in the field of sports. This was stressed during an interactive webinar on ‘Challenging Gender Norms: The Path to Female Empowerment’ organised by the federal human rights ministry on Friday. The webinar was held in collaboration with the European Union, as part of the ongoing ‘Reels for Rights’ film festival. Human Rights Ministry Secretary Rabiya Javeri Agha spoke about the importance of developing cross-sector partnerships between the government, civil society organisations, international organisations, and the private sector to create an enabling environment for girls.
