PES recovers python from house

The lowest snakebite incidents were reported in Gujrat district

LAHORE:

A six-foot long python was recovered from a house in Garhi Shahu area by the Punjab Emergency Service (PES) . Rescue 1122 received a call about the presence of a python in a house. A rescue team responded to the emergency call and caught the python. The team brought the python to Rescue 1122 Station and handed it over to the Lahore Zoo administration. Rescue 1122 spokesman said special Rescue 1122 teams have responded to 1,791 snake-related emergencies across Punjab since January 2020. The highest number of emergencies calls was received from Lahore during this year. The data also showed that the lowest number of snake-related emergencies was reported in Pakpattan and Okara districts. A total of 510 snakebite victims were rescued by PES teams and shifted to hospitals after the provision of emergency medical treatment in Punjab. The highest number of snakebite emergencies was 128, affecting 105 victims in DG Khan, 52 victims in Rajanpur, 32 victims in Multan, 25 victims in Bahawalpur and Bhakkar. The lowest snakebite incidents were reported in Gujrat district, the officials added.
