Over 7,000 children not vaccinated

Hyderabad deputy commissioner also visited dozens of families who had refused immunisation

HYDERABAD:

As many as 7,675 children, under five years of age, out of a target of 339,000 in Hyderabad could not be immunised for polio during a five-day vaccination campaign which concluded on Thursday. According to sources, 7,009 children were not present at their homes when the polio teams visited them, while the parents of 666 children refused the immunisation. Hyderabad deputy commissioner also visited dozens of families who had refused immunisation for their children and convinced them to allow polio teams to administer polio drops.
