The Instagram account of controversial social media personality and Big Boss contestant Vikas Fhatak, better known as Hindustani Bhau has been suspended, reported Hindustan Times. Many had gone on to report his accounts for hate speech and promoting violence. In response, Instagram notified that Hindustani Bhau’s account was suspended as the post went against their community guidelines.

Hindustani Bhau is known for posting jingoistic rants both on his Instagram and YouTube accounts. Often times, Pakistan and Muslims, in general, are targeted in videos. More recently he came at odds with certain celebrities in India including producer Ekta Kapoor and superstar Shahrukh Khan. In June, he filed a complaint against Ekta Kapoor for disrespecting Indian soldiers in her ALTBalaji web show XXX season 2, reported Indian Express.

Comedian Kunal Kamra had also asked Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh to take action against Bhau for his videos. He wrote, “HM @AnilDeshmukhNCP & @MumbaiPolice Calling for open violence is a crime. This is a mob building & hate spreading excercise. This is deeply alarming. Could lead to violence & an artist not getting due process. Remarks like “System side main” are an insult to our constitution (sic).”

He had even shared abusive videos against Kapoor and her family. Bhau was recently also accused of instigating youngsters to commit acts of violence in the name of protecting Indian culture.
