KARACHI:

The city is to see heavy rain with thunder and lightning once again, today (Friday) and tomorrow (Saturday), according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

A weather forecast issued by the PMD on Thursday indicated the possibility of light showers in the city on Friday morning, soon gaining momentum to turn into thundershowers by the evening.

PMD director Abdul Qayyum Bhutto explained that the latest spell of rain would be caused due to a low air pressure system near Rajasthan in India, making its way towards eastern Sindh. As a result, Karachi, Hyderabad and some other districts of the province will witness thundershowers, he said.

Today, the weather is expected to remain mostly cloudy, with the temperature rising to 35 degrees Celsius at maximum.
