Amazon Prime denies working on SSR project with Pakistani actor
A post made by a National Academy of Performing Arts (NAPA) graduate Hasan Khan did the rounds on social media earlier, whereby he alleged that he is working on a project based on Sushant Singh Rajput's life that will be aired on Amazon Prime.
Khan took to his social media on Monday and revealed that he would be playing the role of the late actor for the OTT giant. He shared a collage of his picture alongside Rajput’s image and wrote, “Alhamdulillah got a project which is really close to my heart, playing Sushant Singh Rajput’s character for @primevideoin.”
Several news outlets reported on the matter and the actor also shared the news reports on his social media. But an official statement released by the platform claims that no such project has been commissioned and Amazon Prime is not hiring Khan, or anybody else for anything on the late Bollywood actor, reported News18.
The statement reads, “Amazon Prime Video has not commissioned or licensed any project on the late Sushant Singh Rajput with actor Hasan Khan or for that matter with anyone else.”
NAPA's official Facebook page had also shared Khan's original post, however, the share has now been deleted and the actor has replaced 'Primevideoin' with 'Indian Web' on his post.
A source close to Amazon had unofficially told Bollywood Hungama, "It’s all in the air right now. No idea why he (Hasan Khan) tweeted about playing Sushant Singh Rajput.”
Nevertheless, Khan has shared a BTS from the upcoming project that he now alleges would be aired on an 'Indian Web'.
