Minister orders relocating city’s fish market

A proposal to install a chillers system in the new fish market also came under review during the meeting

Punjab Industries and Trade Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal has ordered the authorities concerned to relocate the fish market in the city.

Presiding over a meeting at Civil Secretariat on Wednesday, he principally decided to shift the said market from the current populated area to the China Scheme area in the provincial capital.

Industries and Trade additional secretary, environment department director general, Lahore Fish Market President Mubarak Ali, General Secretary Rai Akhtar, officials of Livestock and other departments concerned were also present on the occasion.

The provincial minister, while addressing the participants, remarked that a modern fish market will be established in the China Scheme area. He disclosed that the latest business facilities will be provided in the new fish market.

The trade minister maintained that the process of relocating the fish market will be swiftly completed.

He directed the officers concerned to speedily complete the financial model for the modern fish market along with a comprehensive feasibility report.
